A 15 years old female student came for braces treatment in November 2017. She complaint of her unpleasant smile, and shifted upper midline towards right side. She didn't realise there is an impacted upper right canine that caused her upper midline shifted. Besides, she also having a very deep bite that might causing some degree of interlocking jaws during chewing, which may leads to temporal-mandibular joint problems later.
Problems list

1. Missing upper right canine in alignment
2. Crowded lower anterior
3. Impacted Upper Right Canine
4. Deep bite
5. Upper mid-line shifted to right side
6. Improper bite (not ideal occlusion)
Treatment objective
1. Dis-impact the upper right canine
2. Align & level of teeth
3. Correction of Upper Mid-line
4. Correction of deep bite
5. Improve smile
Total treatment time was 14 months, completed in January 2019. Fixed retainer was bonded on anterior teeth to maintain its position till fully re-calcification of bone around the root in 2 to 3 years time. It is because the anterior roots are conical shape and more easy to rotate or move compare to posterior teeth. Patient also on clear overlay retainer every night. She came for review in early 2020, and her occlusion is stable.
Materials and Method
Damon Q braces, a passive self ligating (PSL)system was used for this patient, because this brackets system can easily expand the dental arch to create space for eruption of canine. Damon Q also known as the best passive self ligation (PSL) system in the market, due to its ability to expand the dental arch physiologically, therefore reduce the orthodontic extraction needs in many cases.
