Invisalign is a modern orthodontic system that uses a series of clear, custom-made removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces, these aligners are made of a transparent, flexible plastic material (SmartTrack™) that is nearly invisible when worn.
How the Process Works
Digital Planning: An orthodontist uses 3D imaging technology to create a precise digital model of your mouth and map out a step-by-step treatment plan.
Custom Aligners: A series of aligners are manufactured specifically for your teeth. Each set is designed to apply gentle, controlled pressure to move your teeth incrementally.
Progression: You wear each set of aligners for 1 to 2 weeks for roughly 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink (anything other than water), brush, and floss.
Completion: On average, treatment takes between 12 and 18 months, though simpler cases can be completed in as little as 6 months.
Key Benefits
Discreet Appearance: The aligners are virtually unnoticeable, making them popular for adults and teens.
No Food Restrictions: Because they are removable, you can continue eating all your favorite foods.
Easier Hygiene: It is much simpler to brush and floss compared to cleaning around brackets and wires.
Increased Comfort: The smooth plastic minimizes the risk of mouth sores or irritation caused by metal hardware.
